FILM & ANIMATION: MAKE A DIGITAL SHORT FILM!

Filmmaker Academy is where kids and teens focus on making original short digital film projects. Campers will be learning and using professional production techniques including:

CGI Animation – Lego Animation – Claymation/Stop Motion
Cel Animation – TV News Production – Film Production
American Girl Doll and Transformers/Action Figure Animation – Music Videos
Science Fiction Show (See Production Technique descriptions below)

Summer Film School for Kids and Teens! Includes lighting, audio, storyboarding, editing, and more! Campers write their own scripts, and produce, direct and edit their own projects! Many campers return again and again to create new projects, refine their techniques, and work on more advanced shorts.

FREE THEATRICAL SCREENING INCLUDED!

See your camper creations exhibited in a real movie theater with a big and supportive audience on a huge screen! All completed camp projects will be screened at Cinemapolis for family, friends, casts and crew! The screening is free and open to the public, bring as many guests as you like! Plus, there’s an AWARDS CEREMONY too in which campers receive TROPHIES in recognition of their awesome creative work over the summer!

FILM & ANIMATION PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES

LEGO® ANIMATION We make animated shorts using Legos as the characters to tell a story.	CGI ANIMATION Use computer-generated imagery to produce your own animated short.
CLAYMATION & STOP MOTION ANIMATION Includes claymation and other stop motion techniques. Tell a story involving multiple scenes with stop motion animation.	CEL & WHITE BOARD ANIMATION Use traditional cel animation techniques (drawing images) to make a short. Great for artists!
TV NEWS SPOOF The camp news team reports on whacky imaginary news events with green-screened anchor desk.	AMERICAN GIRL / TRANSFORMERS / ACT.FIG. ANIMATION Use American Girl Dolls, Transformers, or Action Figures to make animated shorts! (These are larger than Legos.) Use ours or bring your own!
SCI-FI SHOW The camp drama (and comedy!) team creates an original science fiction short, using green screen and other special effects.	MUSIC VIDEO Make a music video combining still photographs, live action video, your animations and imagination!
