SUMMER 2022: Special Considerations

Will this summer be “back to normal” for summer camp? We’re hoping and expecting that with all our counselors and staff vaccinated against Covid, and all the adults in campers’ households vaccinated, it may not quite be normal but it will be a lot better than the previous summer.

We expect that campers and counselors and staff will continue to wear masks, and we will be social-distancing aware, and will follow all recommended practices for summer day camps that the CDC and NY State Health Department recommend.

We may limit the number of available camper slots more severely than in previous summers for safety’s sake.

We will be filtering the air throughout the camp using HEPA filters.

We will be encouraging campers to be outside as much as possible, emphasizing break times on our lawns, playing badminton, Frisbee, etc. Everyone benefits from fresh air!

If You Have “Store Credit” From Last Summer…

We are extremely grateful to those who accepted “store credit” last summer in lieu of refunds, and your willingness to help us has literally kept the lights on through this difficult period.

We have a standard system we’ve used for years to register for camp, and rather than have to create a whole new system for people in this category, here’s the approach we’re using to handle your camp credit from last summer:

First, if you want to register for the exact same camp program that you cancelled out of from last summer (with two for one credit), please register for the weeks you want via the “Pay by deposit” registration. You will have to pay seventy-five dollars (you can pay deposit for just one week, but register for two or four.) On the first day of camp we will issue you a refund for this deposit amount. When you check out via PayPal, there’s an area for any notes or comments. Please write in this area “I am using equivalent store credit on a two-for-one basis,” or something like that. We will mail you a statement indicating the refund due from the deposit amount.

Second, if you want to register for different programs with fees that are different amounts from last summer: Double the amount you paid last summer, and this is how much credit you have towards this summer. Register via the “Pay by Deposit” amount, paying the seventy-five dollar deposit fee. When you check out via PayPal, there’s an area for notes or comments. Please write in this area “I am using store credit,” or something like that. We will send you an invoice that doubles the amount you paid last summer, subtracts the deposit amount and calculates any remaining balance due, or refund of deposit if appropriate.

Third, if you’re registering for different camp programs with fees that are the exact same amount as what you registered for last summer, then follow the instructions in “First.”

Sorry for any inconvenience or hardship caused by the need to pay a small deposit to register with “store credit” that may be refunded, but this process enables us to use our existing PayPal registration system. Please email us with any questions (info@ithaca-media.com).
