Registration for Summer 2024 is now open for Ithaca Media Arts Summer Camp!
Now entering our 16th year of Summer Camp, we’re gearing up for an awesome summer of fun, creativity, making things, tech, media and learning! Register now for Ithaca Media Arts 2024 Summer Camp!!!
Use the simple Media & Tech Camp option, as it is easiest. Just pick which week(s) and Full Day (9am-4pm), School Day (9am-2pm), Mornings (9am-12:30pm), or Afternoons (12:30-4pm). This Media & Tech Summer Camp registration system makes signing up simple, and enables campers to decide when they arrive which activities they prefer. (You don’t have to decide in advance what your camper(s) will be doing.) Media & Tech Camp activities include Robotics, Filmmaking, Roblox Game Design and Play, 3D Printing and CAD, Lego Animation, Claymation, CGI Animation, Green Screen Studio Production and more! Most registrations use this easier system and register for Media & Tech Camp.
PEE-WEE ANIMATION, PUPPET & TV PLAYHOUSE (ages 4-7)
New this summer, for our youngest campers ages 4 – 7, is our PEE-WEE ANIMATION, PUPPET & TV PLAYHOUSE. Featuring activities in green screen puppetw, claymation, Lego animation, and an exciting new separate space for the Playhouse!
ADVANCED COMPUTER, GRAPHICS & SYNTH SOUND LAB (ages 12+)
The Advanced Computer, Graphics & Synth Sound Lab offers fun exploration of digital and analog creativity! Available to older campers (ages 12 and up), this Advanced Lab is INCLUDED with regular Full Day / School Day / Morning / Afternoon camp registration, available here.
BUILD A PC THIS SUMMER!
This summer we’re again offering the Build Your Own Computer Camp for ages 10 to 18 as both a standalone camp, or as an add-on option for Full Day and Afternoon campers. Now gamers, tech enthusiasts and anyone else with an interest to build their own PCs can take home a high-performance PC built at camp!
VIRTUAL REALITY
All campers age 8 and up also get to experience VIRTUAL REALITY with the Vive VR system.
C.I.T. Program for Teens 16 -18
If your camper likes our camp but feels they have aged out of it, we have a new C.I.T. Program for teens ages 16 -18. This is only open to former campers from previous summers. Great experience and preparation for becoming a counselor at Ithaca Media Arts!

For the benefit of old-timers, or for newbies who prefer to check us out in a more limited (fewer hours per day) and a more focused way, we still offer the specialty camp registration system. You can choose from over a dozen part-time Morning & Afternoon Camp programs using our traditional register by camp program system!

ITHACA MEDIA ARTS SUMMER CAMP: A Summer Maker Fair for Teens & Kids!
From animation to robotics, claymation to 3D printing, filmmaking to game making, photographing reality to Virtual Reality, Ithaca Media Arts is an extraordinary environment where kids and teens come for a fun time and leave with new skills and the empowerment of the maker movement! ALL DAY OR MORNING / AFTERNOON CREATIVE FUN!
Full day 9am-4pm camps include Full Day Film & Animation Academy for teens and kids ages 8-17 interested in making videos and animations, Junior FilmmakerJunior Filmmaker Camp for ages 5-9, and Engineering Camp for ages 8-17.
CREATIVE, FUN CAMPS FOR ALL AGES!
The Film & Animation Academy camp programs for ages 8 -18 enable campers to create their own short films! Campers use Lego Animation, CGI, Cel Animation, Stop Motion, Claymation, Green Screen, and other techniques to produce original scripts. This summer at the Academy we’re making a Jeopardy and documentary spoof, plus our customary TV News Spoof, and creating animations Legos, Transformers and other toys!
EARLY DROP OFF & LATE PICKUP.
We’ll be open from 8:30 am to 6:00pm this summer, as in previous years. We offer early drop off and late pickup to suit your schedule, in half hour increments, via our Afternoon & Morning Recreation program. Just choose the extra time(s) you need.
DISCOUNTS FOR MULTI-WEEKS, SIBLINGS/FRIENDS
Substantial discounts are available for campers signing up for multiple weeks; see the online registration details for each (in the drop down list of how many weeks.) There’s also a 10% discount for registering a second (and third) camper on the same form (sibling / friend discount) — this is applied automatically at checkout.
Do you know a young future filmmaker who would enjoy a 4-week filmmaking program? Register for 1, 2, 3, 4 or more weeks at our Film & Animation Academy program and get a mini-film school and summer camp rolled into one!
Or register a tech enthusiast for 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8-weeks of game making with ROBLOX Game Making Camp and your camper can create a really sophisticated online game with advanced scripting that she or he will be truly proud of! Teens and kids can even create games to play on the X-Box using the ROBLOX platform and tools and expertise we provide!
Camp begins the first week of July and ends Labor Day Weekend. A traditional mail-in registration form is also available here.
SEE CAMP PROJECTS ON THE BIG SCREEN AT CINEMAPOLIS!
All camp programs include free admission for friends and family to a real movie theater screening of all completed camp projects at Cinemapolis in downtown Ithaca. The screening will include mini-documentaries of the tech camps too, so everyone is part of the show!
